I hope you're doing well, friend!
A little while ago you were kind enough to stop by my Nana submission entitled 'TrueXS' and leave your thoughts as well as your favour. I've been meaning to stop by and answer your questions sooner only time's been most strict with me lately.
Now, as to your line of conversation:
Actually, no, believe it or not, I've known about the NANA manga, anime series and films for quite some time but I've never actually gotten around to reading or watching either. I understand the general plotline of the story. That two young women each sharing the name Nana (which interestingly enough means: 'no name' in Japanese) happen to live together as the best of friends yet with entirely different social circumstances. Our primary Nana is the front woman for a progressive Punk Rock band named 'The Black Stones' while her name sharing companion is a tender hearted and more so reserved character. And that the rest of the story bubbles around the interpersonal relationships, life and times of these women respectively. I don't doubt it would be a good read and likewise a good watch. Actually I'm not certain why it is that I wasn't drawn to it more so before. Perhaps it has to do with my penchant for enjoying action and horror.

However, recently I found a dramatic manga series written by Mitsukazu Mihara named: 'The Embalmer'.
It's more of an adult series really. All about a young man name Shinjyurou Mamiya who's profession as a mortician has him specialize in the practice of embalming. The concept is difficult to understand in Japan and thus the story reflects on Shin's experiences with medical and public misconception as well as confronts the very hard topic of death. It's a difficult series to read but I find reflective poise within the over all text.

Well, that's enough chatter from me for the moment. I'll see if I can keep an eye open for the Nana series over the next few weeks and let you know my thoughts as I progress. Likewise you may be interested in noting that soon enough I'm gearing up to release a second Nana inspired wall artwork called 'Roll Over Revolution'.
